The book is Rising Strong, and from the introduction it lays down strategies to grapple with emotions in tough situations and “rise strong” on the other side of the fight, armed with new understanding of ourselves and a plan for future run-ins.
As you may have noticed, there was no new blog post last week. I was in the mountains, enjoying the new blanket of snow, learning new skills and dodging trees on the way down the hill.

Of course, we all know that sometimes the clean out doesn’t last. The clutter sneaks back in, we accumulate more junk, our normal state is a tempting routine and we fall back into it. Be that as it may, any moment of progress shows us what’s is possible. And friend, it’s all possible. ❤
As good as the shortcuts, indulgences and laziness felt at the time, at the end of every day I had nothing to show for it and found myself in another place I talk about frequently. That guilty feeling that you aren’t making progress and don’t deserve to do well.
Emotions were real things that happened to me and I had no control over them. It wasn’t pretty.
