The book is Rising Strong, and from the introduction it lays down strategies to grapple with emotions in tough situations and “rise strong” on the other side of the fight, armed with new understanding of ourselves and a plan for future run-ins.
While I value the experiences, feelings, growth, emotions and education and I could have written about any of it, the one thing that stood out the most in this dynamic week, was something so simple I honestly surprised myself.
As you may have noticed, there was no new blog post last week. I was in the mountains, enjoying the new blanket of snow, learning new skills and dodging trees on the way down the hill.
ou and I and everyone else see the world through our own unique set of goggles, with a heads up display. We start life with a smudge free pair of crystal clear specs and a HUD that only blips in recognition of a few choice people.
I’m out here like you, doing my very best to live a healthy, purposeful, splendid and brilliant life. Sometimes I succeed with incredible poise and aplomb. Sometimes I ditch my workout, get frustrated and curse in traffic, then eat a platter of desserts from a work event. You know, balance.
What would change in your day to day life if you believed that you were put here to continue to learn and grow and mature every day?
May the wisdom I've learned strike a chord and remind you of your own pearls of truth. May you learn from the people and things that bother you, be patient and have others be generous with their time on your behalf. May you remember that you are always beautiful, and always growing. May you have flexibility in your expectations and be willing to laugh. And may you always be open to finding new favorites.
