As much as I’ve heard about “self-care” very few people talk about what exactly it is. Sure, the basics are pretty obvious, it’s caring for yourself… But honestly, I've never had a great grasp of what the heck this is.
We’re gonna spend four weeks talking about self-image, because ladies and gents, nothing impacts your life quite as much as the things that you feel and believe about yourself.

May the wisdom I've learned strike a chord and remind you of your own pearls of truth. May you learn from the people and things that bother you, be patient and have others be generous with their time on your behalf. May you remember that you are always beautiful, and always growing. May you have flexibility in your expectations and be willing to laugh. And may you always be open to finding new favorites.
Sometimes we neglect the things that make up happy because we begin to believe that they are no longer valuable, don’t show off our intelligence, or that others may judge us.
As good as the shortcuts, indulgences and laziness felt at the time, at the end of every day I had nothing to show for it and found myself in another place I talk about frequently. That guilty feeling that you aren’t making progress and don’t deserve to do well.
May your new year be full of gratitude for what you’ve already experienced, enjoyment of the moment while you’re in it, and anticipation of the brilliant future you are creating.

Maybe the disappointment is because my favorite gift was spending the holiday season enjoying their company, and now that they have given me that most extravagant gift, it's going away.
